ACTIVITIES: 2012 – EEIG Presidents Conference
				The 2012 EEIG Presidents Conference was hosted at the FLAMINGO BEACH HOTEL from 28 to 31 March 2012. Our Presidents from 17 countries including Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Israel, Malta, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom deliberated on the new challenges business faces internationally, exchanged ideas and renewed their commitment to the goals of the EEIG. The theme of the Conference was “Rising to Meet New Challenges”. Our President for Nigeria was a late arrival due to visa issues and arrived on Tuesday 3/04/2012. He has been briefed by our CEO and the Speaker of the Board. At the awards night held in Larnaca on 30 March the following Larnaca companies received their certification credentials by Prof Dr Heinz Vejpustek, President and CEO of the EEIG in Brussels - EU Service Standards went to IRIDA KTIMATIKI LTD represented by Mr. Christodoulos Mouscos and GLG Trading Ltd represented by George Georgiou. The EUSS Hotel Standard was granted to Flamingo Beach Hotel represented by Sue Petropoulakis and finally the EU Wellness Standard went to TOTALFIT run by Paul Dinglis and the Stelios Kyriacou Group’s Privillege Centre of Living represented by Mrs Efthymia Kyriacou. On the same night Prof Vejpustek made a number of awards including the 2012 EEIG Corporate excellence Award to Mr Savvas Kakos of the QUALITY GROUP (Cyprus); the EEIG Action Award to Karim Alirzayev (Turkey); the EEIG President's Award to Alexander Bocharov (Russia and CIS); the EEIG Leader’s Award to Djordjie Dukic (Serbia) and the Order of Merit Medal, the highest honour within the organisation went to Mr Michalakis Megas (Cyprus). The organising committee and the Conference extend their thanks to the Cyprus Tourist Organisation (KOT) and the Flamingo Beach Hotel for sponsoring the Conference. The Conference closed on 31 March with the announcement that soon the EEIG will be establishing officially its Mediterranean HQ in Larnaca and that the Autumn 2012 EEIG Presidents Conference will be held in Istanbul whilst the Spring 2013 will be hosted in Kiev.
